The ‘SPEAK WELL’ programme is organised by Koru Impart Learning Trainers (KILT, for short).

We want to help you to speak with confidence in English, in all situations, through proper guidance. You will learn to use a situation and shape it into a clear message, with a clear purpose, for a specific audience. You will learn to create a powerful presentation to inform, inspire and persuade your listeners.

You will receive certification from The London Teacher Training College, UK, for the ‘SPEAK WELL’ programme. This is a 16-hour course and you will be required to give a presentation in English to a live audience. It cost $750, paid in instalments.

Advanced Certificate in Grammar

Advanced Certificate in Grammar

This 26-hour LTTC course covers a wide-ranging study of English grammar. You will learn about syntactic functions; for example, you will cover topics about subjects, objects, complements; syntactic categories or parts of speech; phrases, clauses, simple, compound, complex sentences and much more.

It is particularly suitable for those who have a strong interest in sentence construction and error analysis. This programme will help candidates deepen their appreciation and knowledge of the English language.

There will be a 25-minute MCQ examination at the end of the programme.

It costs $1400/-, paid in instalments.
All awards will be issued by The London Teacher Training College, UK.

Preparatory Course for the Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)

This is a preparatory course for TEFL.  The Certificate in TEFL course covers the essential components needed to equip one with the necessary skills to land that first job as an English teacher in a private school. The programme provides an insight into the challenges facing the learner and the role of the teacher. The up-to-date and practical course provides a path for those desiring a fast entry into the teaching industry or who are exploring teaching English as a possible career without an initially huge outlay in investment.

Students get classroom teaching experience. They are trained to prepare lesson plans on all four skills, as well as grammar and pronunciation. The instructor will evaluate students’ lesson plans and classroom teaching and the marks obtained will go into their final grading.

Requirements

At least 18 Years of age
At least 2 years working experience
GCE ‘O’ Levels with a credit in English or equivalent

For Foreign students, a high school qualification and a IELTS score of 6.5 is required

If you do not fall within the above categories but are interested, please summit all your qualifications and a letter explaining why you should be considered. You may be asked to undergo a written English proficiency test and attend an interview. Your application will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Assessments

Open book course assignments to be submitted to London Teacher Training College in the U.K. where they will be assessed and graded by two examiners.

Duration

This course is taught only on a part time basis
33 Hours – 2 session or 3 sessions a week.  You will finish the course in 6 to 9 weeks – depending on the course frequency. We also have a once-a-week course; and you will finish this in 18 weeks.  Mode of study : we have a face to face and a blended learning programme too.

Preparatory Course for the Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

This Diploma in TESOL course is suitable for those who are new to teaching English and who wish to develop  their skill in  teaching  students who are speakers of other languages. The programme will give the trainee teacher an introduction to the theory and practice of English teaching. TESOL provides an insight into the challenges facing the learner and the role of the teacher in the classroom. Teaching methodologies, techniques to develop language skills, phonology and morphology, the study of English grammar, lesson planning, plus the different learning styles and testing will be included. The practical aspect includes lesson observation and guided teaching practice.

Please note: The Diploma in TESOL course is the same programme as the Preparatory Course for TESOL.

Also, students will receive a Comment Report on Lesson Planning at the end of the Diploma in TESOL course. Classes are taught in a blended way – via an online platform and in a physical class.

Duration

This course is taught only on a part time basis.

Mode of study : We have a face-to-face session and also a blended learning programme to suit the needs of the student.

There will be at least 44 sessions (1.5 hours each) or 33 sessions (2 hours each) of contact time.  Total number of hours, including examination, homework, practicum dry runs and practicum examination is 100.

You will take about 3.5 months to complete the course, if you do it at 3 times a week. You will take about 5.5 months to finish the course, if you do it twice a week.  You could do it 5 days a week and finish it within 2.5 months. We are flexible when it comes to timing, and we will try our best to cater to your needs.
