This is an English Teacher Training course.
We train people to teach English. You will learn the important skills needed to becoming an effective English teacher.
You will learn the necessary:
- Technical skills (Grammar, Vocabulary teaching).
- Teaching skills (How to teach the four skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing).
- Classroom management skills.
For both the Certificate in TEFL and the Diploma in TESOL programmes, the minimum enrolment requirement is – an ‘O’ level qualification (pass in English) or a high school qualification with one year’s work experience or an IELTS grade 6 or its equivalent standard. There will be an oral interview done to determine the candidate’s competency in the spoken language too.
The Diploma in TESOL and The Certificate in TEFL awards will come from The London Teacher Training College, UK. (LTTC). We have been working with them for the past 20 years. The teacher and founder, Brian Pereira, has been teaching these courses from the very start.
LTTC is an approved training provider of Training Qualification UK (TQUK) www.tquk.org . The Diploma in TESOL is recognised at Level 7 of the UK National Qualifications Framework. TQUK is an awarding organisation recognised by the UK Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (OFqual), the UK Register Qualifications http://register.ofqual.gov.uk. TQUK aims to provide qualifications for the industry and professionals.
All classes are taught in one of three ways:
A) A blended teaching approach, where classes are taught primarily on ‘Zoom’, with the Lesson Planning and Teaching sessions done in a physical classroom.
B) All classes are taught in a physical classroom.
C) All classes are taught in a fully online platform – particularly for overseas students.
A) For the Certificate in TEFL programme, there will be homework assignments based on every unit of the course. (There will be 9 assignments.) There is also a 30-minute lesson planning presentation to be done.
B) For the Diploma in TESOL course, there will be four modules. The first and the second modules are tested through classroom and homework assignments. These include two 500-word essays each. The third module is a practicum module where the student would have to present a 30-minute lesson. The fourth module is a 3.5 hour open-book examination.
The Certificate in TEFL programme costs $1700 – paid in instalments. We have flexible interest free instalment plans of 5 instalments ($340 x 5 months) and other instalment combination plan (1st instalment $600, 2nd instalment $550, 3rd instalment $550). Please approach our staff for the various plans.
The Diploma in TESOL programme costs $2800 – paid in instalments (Plan A) ($300 first payment and $500 for the next 5 months). Another two instalment combination plans are available too. (Plan B) ($350 x 8 months); or (Plan C) (1st instalment – $600, and the next 4 instalments – $550).
There are no extra charges. All instalment plan combinations will amount to $2800.
The average teacher-student ratio for the courses is 1 teacher : 3 students.
Payment can be made via Paypal, if you are overseas, or through payment applications such as: Paylah, PayNow and cash or cheque if you are in Singapore. More information will be furnished when you sign up.
Unfortunately, there will not be an industrial attachment after the course, but we will send your names out to our contacts who are looking for English and Communication teachers.
Mr Brian Pereira teaches both the Certificate in TEFL and the Diploma in TESOL courses full time.
Ms Raji Chelliah teaches the Certificate in TEFL and one module of the Diploma in TESOL course – the Lesson Planning and Lesson Delivery module.
